Lift and slide doors offer high levels of performance and large sliding panes, all wrapped in a bespoke timber frame.

With sightlines of just 100mm, the Primo Lift and Slide Door minimises sightlines and maximises light through the clever design of this timber structure. Using both finger jointed and cross laminated timber methods, the timber lift and slide patio door is strong and durable and is able to be specified with an external timber frame – unlike other lift and slide doors on the market.

Using a unique aluminium glazing bead to the outside the Primo Lift and Slide Door protects the solid timber frame from external moisture at its weakest point whilst allowing the rest of the timber frame to be visible and form part of the external façade design. This glazing bead is best finished in a RAL colour to match the chosen timber colouration for a minimal effect.

The lift and slide patio door panels can be integrated within frameless glass facades for a modern design or you can choose to continue the design of the exposed timber frame around these glass expanses.

The lift and slide mechanism of the Primo system is designed for effortless operation, even with large lift and slide panels. You just turn the minimal handle 180-degrees to lift the door onto its rollers which allows you to operate the lift and slide patio door. Even the largest and heaviest sliding doors can glide.

The low threshold of the Primo Lift and Slide Door allows the boarders between inside and outside to dissolve, creating that connection between the interior and nature without effort. Awareness of space is maximises with the glass expanses that can run the length of a room.

With options of double or triple glazing, the lift and slide patio door can be designed to suit your project requirements. The triple glazed option offers Uw values from 0.9 W/m2K whilst the double glazed option provides insulation values from 1.1 W/m2K.

All ironmongery and sliding mechanisms are of the highest quality using stainless steel for a robust and smooth sliding action.

The Avino range includes a variety of lift and slide patio doors, designed to suit a wide range of project types.

The Avino Primo Lift and Slide Door is a good option for a typical patio door elevation where a timber profile is wanted. The timber frame to the lift and slide patio door can be left exposed and stained to eventuate the beauty of the timber material. Alternatively, you can choose to paint the timber with a water-based finish to your chosen colour.

Timber inside and out

The Avino Primo range has the option to have the timber frame visible inside and out. Thanks to the unique aluminium glazing bead on the outside, you can choose to expose the beauty of the timber frame outside as well as in.

Unlike other timber lift and slide patio doors, you don’t have to have an external aluminium finish. The aluminium glazing bead protects the weak area of the timber frame, where the glass meets the frame, allowing the rest of the timber frame to be visible.

This is a great option for those that want to see the timber finish inside and out.

Timber finishes

The timber frame of the Primo Lift and Slide Door is available in Pine, Oak or Meranti. These timbers are then available in a range of finishes to suit the project. Thanks to the aluminium glazing bead, this timber finish is the same on the outside.

Alternatively, you can chose to have an external aluminium finish as a typical composite lift and slide patio door. If you choose this option then the aluminium external can be PPC any RAL colour.

Timber engineering

When working with timber, there are various ways in which this can be jointed or engineered to create larger or stronger timber structures and frames.

Finger jointing or cross lamination are the two most popular ways to work with timber to improve its strength. You can find out about the differences between cross lamination and finger jointed timber here.

The Avino Primo range comes in either cross laminated timber or finger jointed timber depending on the timber requested and the size of the installation.

Performance

The Avino Primo Lift and Slide Door can achieve a Uw value of 0.9 W/m2K using a triple glazed unit. Air permeability class 4, water tightness class E900A and wind resistance class C5 all contribute to creating a very high performing lift and slide patio door in timber.

Glass options

The glass within the Avino Primo Lift and Slide door is insulated in either double or triple glazing. The glass within the timber frame can be 24-40mm thick.

Low e coatings are included in the glass as standard with additional glass coatings and finishes possible on request, including solar control coatings and decorative finishes
