This unique glass extension in London was designed to maximise the amount of natural light that flows through the open plan kitchen and create an indoor-outdoor living experience. Structural glazing was used to create the main shape of the glass extension, complete with roof glazing to capitalise on the light throughout the day.

The metal frames of the extension have been powder coated in white for a greenhouse-like design that contrasts the traditional brick of the terraced home and highlights the modern elements that have been added.

Inside the London home, Sieger Lux Bifolding doors have been installed as both door and window systems, leading to a small terraced area beyond the kitchen. The contemporary rear extension in London has been designed in an unusual shape, leaving small areas of the plot which the architects utilised in clever ways. Using the same profiles for the window and door systems creates a coherent design and highlights what you can do with completely bespoke glazing solutions.

When the bifolding window and doors are opened, completely open apertures are revealed and the kitchen becomes a highly ventilated space that makes use of the awkward shaped terrace, located between the new kitchen and the unique glass extension in London. The slim framed bifolding door was finished in RAL 7003 Matt, a moss grey colour with a hint of green.

Inside the modern kitchen extension, sage green has been used to create a luxury kitchen that matches the aluminium profiles of the nearby bifolding window and door. When the folding windows and doors are open they stack neatly at opposite sides of the extension, sliding away from the corner junction to reveal uninterrupted views of the unique glass extension in London and the garden beyond the extension.
