A self-build project in St. Saviour, Guernsey features IQ’s minimally framed sliding glass doors to capture the surrounding views.
The contemporary glazing design contrasts effectively with the traditional features of the local stone creating bright and inviting living spaces whilst maintaining the design integrity required for the local area.

The contemporary design incorporates the minimally framed sliding glass doors in three separate openings. The slim 21mm framing of these sliding glass doors takes advantage of the surrounding views with minimal visual interruption, drawing in even more natural light into the open plan living spaces as well as providing key access to the outside patio areas.
The three sets of slim frame sliding glass doors were installed as part of the self-build project allowing views to be enjoyed from the modern living spaces and creating flush threshold access onto the courtyard-like patio.
The large structural glass wall was used to the corner of the property providing a wider view of the country landscape as well as enabling the living spaces to be filled with natural light. The structural glass creates a clean and cohesive design to the contemporary architectural design.
Large frameless rooflights have been incorporated into the design throughout the self-build project to increase the amount of natural light into the open plan living spaces.
The owners’ desire for a bright, light-filled living spaces lead the design with frameless glass rooflights and automated venting rooflights enabling easy ventilation to the upper floor bedrooms.
Side-hung aluminium windows have also been used to provide ventilation throughout the property.
The slim frames enable more light to penetrate through and keep a cohesive design along with the dark grey powder coated framing used throughout this self-build project.
The dark grey powder coat contrasts effectively with the light grey stonework providing a very distinguished design finish.
