IQ Glass designed and installed the glazing for this games room, which was an extension to a Grade II Listed home in Essex. The original building follows a traditional design, maintained by the listed status whilst the games room was designed to contrast the cottage style with a contemporary edge.
Upon entry the games room is approached via a glass link with timber posts, clad in vertical timber and designed to contrast the nearby red brick with frameless glass doors.
The architectural glazing and timber create a warm, inviting atmosphere and the frameless glazing has been finished with a roof overhang that is clad in timber on the underside for solar shading.
Where the frameless doors meet the fixed glazing, timber pressings have been installed to conceal the details and to maintain a timber design throughout the glazing.
