As part of this award-winning garden design project that was showcased at the 2013 Hampton Court Flower Show, IQ designed and installed a bespoke glass bridge. The impressive garden was awarded the Gold Medal as well as being listed as the Best Summer Garden at that year’s event.
The garden design incorporated a frameless glass bridge over the centre of the circular design made from a strong unit panel of toughened laminated glass to take the walk-on load from the foot traffic. Glass was used here to mirror the effect of the water feature around and allow vision through the glass to the water below.
Although the garden was a display model it gives you a great example of how glass can be used dramatically and beautifully within an external garden space.
