Main Text: The Rusty House project was featured in the April issue of Build It Magazine as one of their ‘Inspiring SIPs homes’. Prior to these inspiring homes in the magazine, there is an editorial piece providing four reasons to build with structural insulated panels (SIPs).
The comment alongside the Rusty House project image says, “A hybrid approach, which combines structural SIPs from Kingspan TEK with steel and concrete supports, helps give this 249m2 scheme its unique appeal. The SIPs component comprises £30,777 (£124 per m2) of the £712,000 total project cost.”
IQ Glass was involved with this project installing structural glass walls, minimal windows sliding glass doors and a Vitra pivot. This contemporary new build home was constructed on an old quarry site with the frameless glazing installed to allow the homeowners to take advantage of their location.
