A contemporary renovation, using structural glass floors and fire rated glass from IQ, transformed these commercial offices in central London into a modern family home.
The Grade II Listed Building is spread out across 5 floors and has been completely renovated with a new contemporary design. A new “heart” to the home has been achieved by creating a glazed enclosure in a lightwell made from frameless fire rated glazing, allowing a spacious kitchen, dining and living area on one floor.

The London property, like most central city homes, does not have a garden, therefore, a rooftop terrace has been created with walk-on glass floors maximising the natural light that flows into the property below.
The new roof terrace has been nestled between the original rear roof pitches so that it provides a private oasis of calm in the middle of the bustling city.
A structural glass floor is a perfect solution when light is desired to pass through the property to the living spaces below. The frameless structural glass was used to create the glass floors on this home, with some of the inner structural glass floorlights also incorporating fire-rated glass to protect exit ways through the home.
The walk-on glass surfaces are manufactured using the highest specifications of glazing to ensure a light and durable glass surface.
A sandblasted effect has been applied to the glass floors for added privacy between the different levels in addition to providing an anti-slip finish. The sandblasted glass has a slip resistance from the slightly rougher surface finish for walk-on glass units creating a safer walk-on glass surface.
