MARS Shortlisted for Best Technical Innovation

IQ Glass has been shortlisted in the Installer Awards 2022.

The MARS, a modern sliding rooflight system has been shortlisted in the GGP Installer Awards 2022. The automated rooflight system is up for the ‘Best Technical Innovation’ award.

The exclusive, modern rooflight was designed in house by the IQ team and can be manufactured in bespoke and unique shapes with few limitations on size, shape or structure. The system is completely automated, with standard motors that can accommodate glass weights of up to 320kg and larger motors to accommodate heavier glass. There are a range of technical integrations available to specify with the MARS, including weather sensors that close the rooflight when rain or strong wind is detected.

The sliding rooflight is perfect for adding ventilation to areas of high humidity such as the kitchen or bathroom, or introducing natural light to spaces where there are no windows. The MARS can be used to provide roof access when creatying modern rooftop gardens or terraces and can be integrated to work as part of a complete smart home system.

The Gem, a commercial project in Manchester, was also shortlisted in the GGP Installer Awards for the category ‘Best Commercial Installation’. The complex steel structure used small panes of structural glass, stainless steel and oak veneered wood to create a faceted gem structure.
