Double Height Extension with IQ Windows for Sale

Located along the streets of Battersea is this four bedroom house which has been recently renovated and updated to create a modern and stylish home. The modern house was on the market with Knight Frank for £3.5 million, showcasing the power that high specification architecture and IQ’ architectural glazing can have over a house price.  

The main glazing from IQ Glass was featured to the rear of the building within the double height extension. This double height extension creates a spacious kitchen area to the rear of the home. Within the kitchen extension, the rear elevation maximised its increased height with double height windows and glass doors from the range at IQ Glass.  

Set within the black timber double height extension is an extra tall slot window spanning from the ground floor to the ceiling of the double height space. This double height slot window was created using frameless structural glazing and the Invisio fixing range from IQ. The thermally broken fixing solution offers high levels of thermal performance with structural glazing that allows the double height window to be completely frameless. 

To the other side of the double height extension is a wider glass slot arrangement with a minimal framed pivot door to the base and a frameless window overhead. Between the pivot door and the glass above is a steel structure which supports the opening for the glass door. To match the extension’s industrial design this horizontal steel was left exposed and just finished to provide protection to the metal. 

This pivoting glass door is the only access from the house to the rear garden. Only a glass pivoting door would be able to achieve the widths that are showcased on this double high elevation of glazing. The framing of the glass pivot door is aluminium with a full thermal break and highly insulated glass. A steel pull bar was integrated into the minimal aluminium profile of the pivoting glass door. This ensures that the large pivot door is easy to use. 

This high specification glazing from IQ comes together with the minimalistic interior design to create a bright and modern interior. The property in Battersea sold for £3.5 million through Knight Frank.
