The Highland Wildlife Park is based in Kincraig Scotland and is home to many wild animals that require full time care. The park is constantly being updated and renovated to provide both the animals, staff and visitors the best experience possible.
As part of the renovations, IQ Glass’ Birmingham team were specified to design and install a vast rooflight. The old barn-style building required some modernization which is why the rooflight has been designed in a zig-zag style which made for a tricky installation.
The unique shape of the roof meant that the frame and glass had to be millimetre perfect to ensure that it fit together and was fully watertight. The glazing was installed with a 5 degree fall to allow any rain to slide straight off onto the roof and down into the drainage system.
The highly technical roof light will provide a modern twist to the classical farmyard style and will provide a pleasant place for visitors to eat, relax and take a break from walking around the park.
