RIBA South West 2023 'Small Project of the Year' is awarded to Studio Weave for its modest design of a double height timber and glazing extension. Conceived as a beautiful retreat for its artist owner, the contemporary timber and glazing extension replaces a redundant garage and workshop separate to the main cottage.
The RIBA judges celebrate this modest piece of architecture which incorporates natural and local materials such as traditional Devonshire stone and cladding connecting its occupants with the surrounding Blackdown Hills.
The RIBA South West award winning double height glass extension features a large frameless structural window box with beautiful timber framing providing a seating place for its owners, friends and family to reflect and draw upon the stunning views for inspiration from the aspect out that the glass box window offers.
